Toilet twinning
Cord the Peace through Partnership charity in partnership with the Tear Fund have set up a Toilet-twinning scheme

For £60 your toilet can be twinned to one in the developing world to help raise awareness of the 2.6 billion people who do not have adequate sanitation. The local pubs will be invited to join this scheme and this can also be given as a gift!

Energy monitors
LIFE have two OWL Electricity Monitors which are available to borrow (with instructions). They are easy to set up and can provide lots of information about your electricity use, which appliances are using most etc. It could help you save on your bills. Loan is free, but we do require a £20 returnable deposit.

Potato & Sunflower growing competitions at Long Itchington Shows 2012
The Spring Show is coming soon on Saturday 31st March 2012 at at Long Itchington Community Centre, Stockton Road.
LIFE will be running the Potato Growing "Spud in a Bucket" and Sunflower Growing Competitions.


Open to children who are residents in Long Itchington Parish and are 12 years or under or attend Long Itchington Primary Shool, Pre-school or nursery . Seed potatoes, sunflower seeds and full instruction will be available from the LIFE stand,
You will need to provide a bucket & soil for your potatoes, a space in your garden or pots & soil for your sunflowers (and a stake), along with regular watering and lots of love tlc (tender loving care!). You will be rewarded with (hopefully) lots of potatoes and / or some lovely sunflowers!
Prizes are awarded at the Autumn Show for the following 3 categories:-
1) The heaviest crop of Potatoes
2) The tallest Sunflower plant
3) The largest Sunflower head
Rosettes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
The Autumn Show on Saturday 8th September 2012 hosts a range of displays and competitions including the judging of the LIFE potato and sunflower competitions.
